Mike is doing great. He has started rehab at Vanderbilt and plans to start slowly back to work next week.

Mike is doing well but he has caught a cough from Courtney. They both sound aweful but so far it has not turned into anything too terrible besides being a little irritable. Thanks for your prayers and words of encouragement. Mike is taking the day to rest today. He did not sleep well as he woke a couple times with elevated PVC’s. He could feel his heart rate speeding up. After sitting up his heart settled down but then he was wide awake. Pray with me that his mind would be protected from worry and that he will rest and allow his heart and chest to heal. Pray that we girls will enable him to have some quiet time and space. We are having another good day.
Anabel has learned a new sound this past week. She is having fun with it and sometimes does it when we kiss her or blow her kisses. I think my Aunt Diane helped with the development of this new sound. Enjoy.

Mike just walked a mile at the YMCA. He said it was easier than helping Courtney get dressed this morning. We had Mexican for lunch. He is napping this afternoon. He is doing great. Today we were playing Monopoly as a family and Courtney said, “Mommy, can I see your moose?” I said, “What are you talking about, I don’t have a moose”. She said, “Yes, your moose right here on your side”. (Be sure to say your r’s like you are from Boston to get the full affect of her accent) I then figured out that she was talking about a mole. She knew that it was an animal name that started with m so she just said moose. I have been giggling off and on all day about it. A couple of weeks ago, some friends were visiting from out of town. The husbands name is Guy. As we were leaving, I said, “Bye, Mr. Guy. Courtney can you tell Mr. Guy goodby?” Courtney said, “Bye, Mr. Dude”. She was close but didn’t understand that his name really is Guy. After church one Sunday we were going to meet some friends of ours for lunch. The daddy of the family is really tall. When we got to the restaurant Courtney asked if the Philistines were there yet. Mike is home. He is doing well. Enjoying a change of scenery and now ready for a rest. This picture is post surgery. He is really doing great. Much better than we had hoped. Mike is continuing to do well. We are still in CVICU but only because there are no beds available in the step down. We may be discharged directly from here. Today he has walked around again and is currently watching movies. He is a little tired of sitting but once he moves around for a little while he is ready to rest again. We are still waiting in CVICU but Mike is doing great. He has walked laps around the floor. Most of his tubes have come out and they are just monitoring and watching his meds. He is getting some good and needed rest today. We will move to the step down when a room comes available but for now we are enjoying the larger room and attention. |
